WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Aren't weddings just the best?
While food photography is my main work, I'm lucky enough to be able to also work part-time as a wedding photographer. It's always such a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of a couples big day, I absolutely love experiencing each and every event. No two weddings are alike, but they are all equally special!
Some things you should know about me as a photographer.
I'm not a fan of posing for photos. It's awkward, everyone feels uncomfortable and stiff, which tends to result in photos that don't show people at their best. Weddings are supposed to be one of the happiest days of a person's life. That joy deserves to be properly captured, so you can look back over your wedding photos for years to come and be reminded of how you felt on your special day.
Instead of photo poses, I work with photo prompts. This allows the subjects to move around, to express themselves and to engage with people and objects around them. Prompt photography allows me to more candidly capture moments and emotions in their natural state, whilst also bringing a sense of comfort and ease to the whole process, and getting those perfect photos that encapsulate your experience. Also, it makes the whole experience so much more fun for you, which is what you want on your wedding day.
I also wholeheartedly believe that my relationship with you, as my clients, should be deeper than me just turning up on your big day to take photos. We need to work together, and to do that well, we need to get to know one another. That's why it is important to me to build that relationship from the start; the better I know you, the better I can understand what your likes and dislikes are, what gives you energy and what makes you smile. I want you to be able to trust me and feel totally at ease around me. If you just want someone to show up on the day - I'm not the right photographer for you. I'm way too invested for that!
Finally, I see it as my role, if I have the wonderful job of being your wedding photographer, to not only take great pictures of your day, but also to make sure that you are feeling at your absolute best. I will be there to make things smoother and to help you have a truly wonderful, unforgettable day. Your wedding is ultimately centred around the two of you, and everyone celebrating the love that you have for one another. I want to help make that the only thing you need to focus on throughout your celebrations.
